Information on Essay Coaching:
- Payments are made in full at the start of the program. I accept payment via check, credit card, or PayPal.
- I work with a limited number of students each year, on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are currently 4 spots available.
- I limit my one-on-one work to students who I believe will be strong applicants to the most selective colleges. As a general rule, this means having high grades in challenging classes, a test score of ACT 33+ or SAT 1450+, and substantial activities outside of the classroom.
- Some schools (such as the UC system and UT system) are considered two colleges due to their extensive essay and application requirements.

Who is this program for?
This program is for students applying to undergraduate colleges or transferring to a new college.
It's ideal for 11th and 12th graders aiming for the most selective colleges.
How many hours of coaching calls do I get?
You receive as much support as you need to feel confident in your applications. Typical coaching time varies by package (see above).
Most of the coaching time you'll receive is provided through detailed written feedback on your drafts. I prioritize working asynchronously, as it benefits both of us, but you’ll do video calls at defined points and as needed.
There is no limit on the total number of hours you can receive, but there is a 2 hour limit per week to ensure our time together is high value.
Who will I work with?
Just me, Ryan. I'm a team of one, so your student will get to work with me directly.
Can I upgrade my package later?
Yes. You can always upgrade your package as your needs change.
How involved can I be (or should I be) as a parent?
Parents don’t need to be involved as I work 1-on-1 with students, but I welcome parent questions and feedback. Parents can observe – attending calls in the background or reading drafts as they see fit. If parents have any questions, they can communicate with me directly at all times throughout the process.
How much essay feedback will I receive?
You'll get unlimited essay editing, which means you can send me as many drafts as you want and I'll work on returning them one-by-one.
How fast are the editing turnaround times?
On average, you’ll receive feedback within 24-48 hours of requesting it. However, longer essays or more complex feedback requests may take longer to review.
How will I communicate with you?
You'll have 7-days-a-week access to me via email and text for any questions that may arise.
You'll also be able to schedule video calls as needed, and submit your essays for feedback via email.
How are video calls and editing feedback conducted?
I use Zoom for all video calls. You'll have a personalized link to schedule and join calls with me.
I use Google Docs or Microsoft Word to provide written feedback on essays, and occassionally use Loom to record short video feedback on essays.
Are my essays kept private and confidential?
College applications are personal, and we take the privacy of our students very seriously.
Your essays are only shared with me, nobody else, and aren't published without your permission.
